Eurico Miranda: The Lifelong Leader of Vasco da Gama

Eurico Ângelo de Oliveira Miranda (1944–2019) was a Brazilian lawyer, politician, and football executive best known for his decades of service to Vasco da Gama. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Miranda studied law and soon combined his legal and leadership skills to shape the direction of one of Brazil’s most historic clubs.

He served as President of Vasco da Gama from 2001 to 2008 and again from 2014 to 2018. During his tenure, he worked to stabilize the club financially, maintain its competitive status, and strengthen its role in Rio’s football culture. Miranda was known for his fierce loyalty and determination to protect Vasco’s independence and heritage.

In parallel, he served as a Federal Deputy for the state of Rio de Janeiro between 1995 and 2002, representing the same dedication to his region that defined his football career.

Eurico Miranda passed away in 2019. For Vasco fans, he remains a symbol of passion, loyalty, and lifelong commitment to Brazilian football.
